‘Weightlessness’ heads to Peru

Peruvian film festival to host Iranian ‘Weightlessness’.

Iranian feature ‘Weightlessness’ has been set to partake at the 3rd edition of the Insolito: International Horror & Fantasy Film Festival in Lima, Peru.

Written and directed by Mehdi Fard-Qaderi, the film will be competing with other films from around the world as part of the festival’s “Fantasies without Rules” Competition.

‘Weightlessness’ is a multi-genre film with a feminine story and the story’s main events being centered on a wedding.

Produced by Morteza Shayesteh, the story begins the morning after a wedding ceremony when the groom disappears, not seen since the night before.

The bride, the groom's mother and sister, and some acquaintances, which came to the wedding uninvited, are looking for the reason for his disappearance. The next day, the group begins blaming each other as their relationships are put to the test.

Starring in the film are Bahareh Kian-Afshar, Amir-Ali Danaee, Nasim Adabi, Yasser Jafari, Jalal Fatemi, Sepideh Moradpour, and Tina Pakravan.

‘Weightlessness’ has appeared at several international film festivals, including the North Carolina Film Award in the US and Bulgaria’s Sofia Menar Film Festival.

The Insolito is Peru’s first genre cinema film festival emphasizing titles with horror and fantasy themes.

The festival’s 3rd edition will be held on February 25–March 1, 2020.
